NTSA Suspends 4 PSV Operators

FPTS acknowledges NTSA’s action following breaches of road safety regulations. The Federation reiterates that road safety is non-negotiable, and operators or drivers endangering lives must be held accountable.

Matatu Strike Update– Commuter Services Set to Resume Tomorrow

Following consultations between Boda Boda Operators, PSV Operators, and Security Agencies, it was agreed that the matatu strike scheduled for Monday, 2nd February 2026, has been suspended to allow dialogue. Further consultations involving transport operators, the National Police Service, and NTSA will be held to reach an amicable solution. Normal public transport services are expected to continue as discussions progress.

FPTS Meets Principal Secretary Mr. Mohamed Daghar to Address Public Transport Challenges

FPTS met with the Principal Secretary for Transport to discuss key issues affecting Nairobi’s public transport — including the insurance crisis, congestion, BRT inclusion, unregulated boda boda operations, and the need for proper PT infrastructure and digitisation. The Federation remains committed to advocating for a safe, organized, modern, and people-centered transport system in Kenya.
